I was on the search for stories like that some time ago as well , “Because I love you” reminds me of it but not really . It doesn’t appear as dark , and its usage of color is pretty bright . But the sense of unease with a woman and her bad relationship with her mother but still liking her reminding me of “efforts never betray”
