It's the translation, honestly. A lot of context can be lost. I don't remember if the missing guy said "significant other" or "important person" and I don't remember the girlie saying brother, only oppa (which is correct but can lose context in English).
I read another translation on this site too but he said something like "my pretty lover is waiting for me on the other side"
As I remember they first said "brother" then some panel had "lover" or close to lover (I'm also confused )
