I'm not really an expert but maybe try saying the most random shit ever like ( what if pandas were yellow and pink instead of black and white) or ( what's your fav apocalypse scenario ) you know don't think about it too much, just put a bunch of words together and hope they from a sentence
Not really the best solution but at least it could start the conversation
( And if that doesn't work you can start a game of uno, that always helps )
Try find something you're interested in that you can talk for like hours. I'm very awkward but when I start talking about mangas it takes too much time for me to stop talking. I feel like once you start talking too much, the whole conversation themes come to you randomly.
Maybe try randomly telling them that you like their company so that they won't think you hate them? Also, te person above me is right, find a hobby/interest you both will like so that you'll have a topic starter, be it a game, knitting or whatnot
So. I have a crush on this guy, sometimes we chat in a not awkward way, but we mostly chat awkwardly. And I think it's my fault we chat awkwardly because of my words always ends with a dead end, or it's because we don't express our self's when we chat...
