I think its more like grooming than gaslighting. Naho's mindset is still very childlike compared to his peers. Plus due to Kana's obsessiveness, Naho is basically isolated from his peers since childhood. So he didn't know how to communicate well with others. He even have to ask permission to hang out with other from Kana due to Kana's anger. His insecurity and low esteem was mostly due to his protective bubble collapsing. Naho probably likes Kana because he is the only person he knows. To be fair, it's all good as long as Kana continue to love Naho. But Naho might lose everything if one day they break up. But then again this is all fiction.
idk why but kana’s approach only worked because he was focusing on naho’s insecurity and low self esteem like if i was naho’s friend i would call him out for manipulation like honestly kana is just an ass like his reasoning doesn’t rlly make sense
