he didn’t kill her family, the empress did. in the story it literally says that he went crazy trying to figure out if Yvonne was alive because the empress attacked her family i mean yeah it was due to Theo provoking her, but he didn’t think she was crazy enough to kill Yvonne’s whole family.
it also says that when he lost his memories, he only thinks that Eve looks like Yvonne cause she doesn’t have the same scar as when she was younger, so it’s not necessarily his fault that he doesn’t believe she’s Yvonne. he also doesn’t remember that he healed her calluses and scar. so in his brain, she’s not the real Yvonne because he doesn’t remember healing her scars.
