Yeah u read it right but in this case gretel couldn’t fulfill his role and he already curse himself so devil said he had to receive punishment but before he can receives it the witch (mother) want to eat him and he dies and which didn’t happened because the other brother (gray) also didn’t fulfill his role to just to save his brother (gretel)
The Hansel and Gretel story I read(not thoroughly tho) was it was Gretel who killed the witch and told Hansel to hold out a bone so that the witch would think that Hansel is not plump?? So Gretel is the smart one? I DONT GET IT PLS HELP
