I got the books in German, there were only three chapters left. Summary is as follows:
Ch. 43, final chapter. They ask Koji if he killed the girl, and he says that he did not, and that he killed himself because he was scared for his future because everyone was convinced he was a murdered. Ginji leaves the house with Ageha without destroying Koji's ghost. Takamatsu catches up to them (thinking it's just Ginji) and asks him why he doesn't seem terribly happy hearing that Koji didn't kill the girl. Genji tells her that his mother created the ghost of Koji, so it's natural that it would say it's not guilty. They speak a little more and come to the conclusion that they will never know. Takamatsua and Ginji part. Ginji and Ageha part. They talk more. Ageha asks if he's okay with not killing Koji's ghost. Ginji says it's fine and that Ageha will be the last ghost he destroys. Ageha reveals the past they had that Ginji had forgotten-- After Ageha's parents had separated, Ageha met Ginji and they became friends. Ageha brought Ginji home one time, which Ageha considered a mistake because Ageha's mother, who was lonely and disappointed in Ageha for having abilities that were not like her's, liked Ginji a lot, and felt that he was the only one who understood her, and would constantly praise him while saying how much better he is that Ageha. Ageha began to hate Ginji for leaving Ageha alone again in favor of Ageha's mother. However, thing's changed when Koji died. Ageha's mother knew Matsue and what her abilities actually were, and she blamed Ageha's father for having Matsue on the show, which is what led to the events that made Ginji stop coming. Ageha's mother, in a fit, began to wish she had a daughter, and started projecting her abilities onto Ageha, so she could live vicariously through him. (Ageha also revealed that he was born a boy). Ageha, due to his mother's curse, stopped growing, and looked more feminine. He had to manipulate those close to him to accept the changes that were happening to him. He eventually left with Futaba to hunt ghosts. Futaba was not strong enough to break the curse on Ageha, and Futaba's abilities got weaker as she grew older. Ageha began to search for Ginji in the hope that he could break the curse, as he had strong abilities, even untrained. Ageha requests that Ginji destroy his current form, so that he may grow and live as he should have. Ginji asks his old name first, and Ageha says that if Ginji has forgotten then it's probably better that way. Ginji destroys Ageha. Skips forward in time. Ginji graduted a year late (I think). He gets a call from Futaba, telling him that Ageha's parent officially divorced and that Ageha's mother had reverted to her maiden name. Takamatsu asks him if Koji still appears; Ginji says he doesn't know because he moved back into his old room. She suggests the possibility that Koji also inherited their mother's ability and that he may have actually been haunted by the little girl's ghost. They conclude that they'll never know. They see briefly, in passing, a middle-school boy that looks suspiciously like Ageha.
