After season 3 started there was this one super shady scene (chapter 115), basically they had an argument (very valid from FL side) and she told him she’s not gonna be a doll looking pretty beside him and wants to do more and have things she wants to achieve. And he kinda disregarded that. She got mad. He said he was gonna punish her for it, took her to a room pretty aggressively and with servants outside the door. He kissed her, and ya know hinted what was gonna happen and she told him to stop. He didn’t. The second smut scene after that seemed better, but honestly the whole situation and that night just was pretty sus and with very doubtful/unclear consent (at least with translation I’ve seen and tried). It’s one of my favorite stories so I have such mixed feelings about this. It doesn’t help that he knew people were questioning her chastity and looking down on her already (and he did that as her “punishment” with the servants outside who could hear everything). It just seemed so toxic and abusive. Idk, it infuriated me. I wanted to read the novel to find consent for that scene, just anything to make it look better.
Turns out, in the novel ML is pretty trash, apparently in season 3 he will be portrayed more accurately to the novel. The chapters there are mostly smut, it’s like plot was lost and characters had a complete switch of personalities. Like, in other scenes he still seems caring, careful and like a good husband. But that one scene… especially in that situation… idk it’s giving me big red alarms. If that mostly is gonna be smut from now on as well, and most smut webtoons have very doubtful consent or complete disregard for it, idk I feel like this kind of scene will happen again. This kind of shady situations will happen again. If u asked me before reading that, I would recommend it 100% cause it used to be one of my favorite webtoons, now honestly I think I might even drop it. I feel like they ruined it for me. It just infuriated me so much, maybe I might come back to check on it when I don’t have such strong feelings about it anymore, and translation is more accurate. But yeah, after reading that scene it just feels like I wasted my time on this. I feel very annoyed and I really do think there will be more shady stuff in the future. Especially, when ML has such strong (and not exactly a green flag overall) character and FL is pretty weak. So, I guess read it depending on what u care about. I always care about very clear consent in smut stories, but I know a lot of people don’t really care about it. If you don’t mind it, and can write it off as a “steamy, dominant sex” then I guess u won’t have an issue reading that.
Basically pure innocent current slave past bastard princess short haired herbalist FL x cold calculating buff ML with daddy and mommy issues who falls in love with our FL's pure cute innocence. The story drags at times and is somewhat nonsensical but the art is really pretty so you turn your brain off.
Okay I get it. I might read it in the future but I'll surely get huge ick if the consent thing isn't clear because idk I just find this whole non consensual or blurry consent thing unreasonable and disgusting. Ofc to each their own but I find this thing so unnecessary

Bruh, literally same. I can’t stand it. It’s really not that hard to make things consensual either. If u wanna read it, I recommend to wait for official translation and then first read chapters 114-116, to not read over 100 chapters just to waste it on some shady non consent scene and suddenly start hating it (like me).

Dude, from what I’ve seen vast majority of people (here at least) enjoy non-con stuff. Ever seen BL fandoms? That’s why I stopped reading it. Can’t stand them. Also, no worries. I would prefer getting heads up about this kinda stuff too. I wasted too much time on webtoons that weren’t worth it or suddenly got ruined
Btw don't read if you don't like weak FL who are passive and basically don't do anything while everyone drags her around.
