right?????? especially considering his backstory and the fact he didn't have much of a childhood or an actual caretaker figure. and i feel bad because his first real interaction with one is yoojin, who is very much an exception to the rule. like, he navigates part of his life in overflowing power where he doesn't need anything or anyone, just fluctuating between boredom and cynicism, and now he knows that there are people out there who'd put their much less powerful existence on the line and literally turn back in time just for the person they love despite not even being strong enough to take the backlash. it's kinda like hyunjae realizes that he doesn't really has anyone that would do that for him. i like this buildup specially because it makes what happens later between them so much more meaningful.
