It's not about Seo-an trusting and loving Woowon. He's being controlling, possessive, and selfish. He's treating Woowon like a pet who he can just pack up into a suitcase and take with him, someone who has no agency or other ties that could possibly be more important than his own desires. It's pretty damn gross.
I don’t disagree!! Please read what I was saying, he’s expressing his love badly! There’s a power imbalance and seo-an clearly doesn’t understand what a two-way street is and doesn’t know boundaries. If you’re trying to tell me that what they have is not love and just seo-an being manipulative, possessive, and selfish, then i’d disagree. Though his feelings are far from healthy, i’d argue that he’s just using his own means to protect woowon. I agree the thing with keeping woowon in the dark about him getting reassigned abroad is a great issue, too, and it’s clearly wrong for seo-an to assume that woowon would just come with him. i like this manhwa because it has very nuanced feelings involved, it sort of reminds me of my own home situation and i take a bit of comfort in it, so i sincerely hope that seo-an can redeem himself!!
my heart hurts so bad… seo-an trusts and loves woowon but shows it in all the wrong ways
