yeah I understand somewhat the first part of the plan, spreading rumours to frame the situation that the Etruscan's planned it/are taking advantage of the murder cause they really want the marriage - which could suggest an ulterior motive Gallico's not aware of, and it could make Gallico unhappy cause originally it was a marriage of control for them, but now they feel like its not as uneven as they thought. So they're now suspicious and wary of them. Thats my theory at least.

I think the second part was the queen subtly "threatening" the Grand Duke (Larissa's father) to break off the marriage or she'll reveal what his daughter did (which he can't let happen), meaning a powerful Gallico noble now opposes it.

I guess that was enough for the Gallico king to withdraw the marriage? That and I guess because it was arguably the Etruscan's that needed the alliance for Gallico's gunpowder and so they wouldn't crush Etrusca, so Gallico wasn't getting a ton out of this marriage apart from it being a power play, so i guess it wasn't worth keeping the marriage?

idk, I think the story could have done more to explain it, im just assuming stuff here
