from what i recall, he thought that she saw him the way he saw himself. He saw himself as a monster in the mirror, and assumed that she’d also see him in that way, so he covered himself. He didn’t know that she and many others saw him as a regular human being in his human form. I think it was in later chapters did he realize that she still loved him and he realized he wasn’t as monstrous as he perceived himself to be
I'm sorry but I'm confused in the start. He don't want to show his face? The FL has already seen it though but she just thought a different person? And she was not afraid of it so what's his worry and keep hiding from his wife
