It's also because divine beasts mature differently. "Short infancy, long childhood, and even longer adulthood that can last hundreds, even thousands of years" so basically in divine beast age, he's still very much a child. + who knows what him being half-human affects these things.
aww he's 51 but his mental age is still like a kid cause the church (?) isolate and manipulate his mind :(
