I am personally not involved in that community, but I've even heard from a few of them saying that involving others in a play goes agaisnt the ethic code because they are non consenting particiapnts or something like that (implying that something like this - the public display - would be crossing a line)
i think its not wrong to hope for accurate representation in a BDSM story; however it doesnt make you a bad person for enjoying and consuming BDSM media that has misconceptions or is not depictive of a healthy BDSM relationship. it doesnt make the media inherently bad either. you should just be aware that the relationship ISNT healthy nor should you set it as the standard for a normal BDSM relationship. i do hope that the people in the comments realize that public plays are pretty fucking weird however... its not wrong for someone to dislike/show their dislike of public plays when frankly its harmful of varying degrees to the public and its literally illegal. that being said its fiction so again who cares
