I completely agree with what you said. I can't understand how some people in the comments, will say that they are both at fault while when we thought he raped her, they were completely blaming him but now it's "No, we can't really blame anyone because they were both under the influence of pheromones" how annoying. She's awful for that, she surely chose to forget just to not feel guilty. Poor ml
From what I've gathered and seen up to chapter 5, it might be that it was her who r*ped him and not the other way around... To excuse herself and forget about it she decided to put the blame on him and change her memories... But that is just my speculation.. (⊙…⊙ )
