I can understand children being upset with their father for destroying their family life because he was so far in the closet. The man made two kids with his ex wife. Im sure these kids were blindsided by the decision and blamed his attraction to men. I feel like that obviously changed when they got older and started to date men. We all say wild things when upset. They were going through a divorce and had to actively live with the man responsible for it. I can only imagine the bitterness that can be associated with it. Obviously they blamed the wrong thing but nonetheless they were both sort of grieving the death of their family life and needed something to shift the blame to. So again, it doesn’t excuse the homophobia but the divorce definitely explains it.
You explained it correctly. We also have to remember they were children when it happened and were basically left in the dark. All they saw was their parents getting a divorce and their dad being romantic towards a guy who was taking the role of their mom. I definitely don’t think being gay had anything to do with, they just direct their hate towards the two people they felt ruined their family. Also, I think the dad is the only one who confirmed he was gay. Ken never did, he could be bisexual. Idk about big bro since he’s never been interested in anyone until now.
