You madam/sir just wrote what I had in mind. Amazing. Really.
I hope those ignorant and childish comments stop. Like be mature enough to understand and empathize..Just please don't take this as just "fiction" ...All stories always incorporates real life situations and events.
Well said! I'm just like "Seriously if you don't like it from the start or you stop liking it in the middle of it, JUST. STOP. READING. OR DON'T READ AT ALL! Nobody is forcing you to read it.
Sometimes I feel that there're people that envy those who can enjoy something they can't, or just dislike those who can be ok with something they can't (speaking ONLY IN WORKS OF FICTION, please get detached from the reality when you came here, isn't the purpose of this site anyway?)
Now, another thing entirely is that even that you're here in this world of fiction, there's someone who actually make money with this to deal with its own life in the reality. So, said person deserve respect from those who admire her work and a simple SILENCE from those who doesn't. And if someone who admires her want to make an observation about her work DO IT WITH RESPECT AND WITH SOME DELICACY. Because, I as a selfish fan of this story, I WANT KOOGI TO REMAIN LOYAL TO THE ORIGINAL STORYLINE AS I FEEL SHE'S DOING IT!
There, I said it. Thank you OP for giving me the chance to add this!
I understand your point, but I think it is important to look at the role of fiction as different than an essay or an instruction book. Stories can affect how we see parts of the world or make us think, and they can reflect and even perpetuate aspects of real life--but not always directly and not always simply. Most importantly, readers are not blank slates and we can and do think critically about what we read--so it is on point to say something is "just fiction" when people try to apply real life standards to fantasy.
Everyone is entitled to keep reading the story whether they love it or they don't. Just that they better keep their mouth shut if they're just gonna spread hate. I really am just tired (fucking irritated) with people who spread unintellectual hate. I legit get TRIGGERED when some readers attack Koogi on twitter. Because what the hell? I agree with you, I hope Koogi isnt affected by any of the hate and conform to all the hate vibes she's receiving.
Thank you (and all of the others who replied) for agreeing with me! I honestly have mentally prepared myself for online combat, if bashers do reply from my post. Because really what I said, I don't think it's a popular opinion. Since, I've noticed recently that hate in the KS fandom seeminhly outweighs the the fans who actually legit like it.
I was actually afraid to express my opinions over this series because of the "you're supposed to hate KS because it's not healthy" trope. (This is specifically directed to the Sangwoo hate issue) I actually really like Sangwoo. He's dysfunctional, yes. He's a murderer and probably a psychopath. I love him as a chatacter. There's a certain vibe from him that i really like. I accept what Sangwoo does in the series because I think it contributes to the story, and that it will contribute to the brilliant progression of the story. (Because really, this series has yet to disappoint me) But that doesn't mean I'm into murder and support it in real life. I have enough brain cells to seperate fiction from reality

YES. I saw it in tumblr. It had em so triggered, tbh. Gosh it's so frustrating. If you go look at tgat link. I feel so frustrated that haters take it out on the author. I think the complaint was about CH19, some fans were not satisfied with it.
Thanks for the link. I am sorry that fans attacked the author on Twitter instead of discussing it in reviews and fan forums, but I enjoyed her explanation of her motives for writing. I am sure people have different reactions, but to me, she succeeded in showing us that raw edge of life and those uncomfortable aspects of human behavior.
So "act one" (I guess the break is official now) shows us Bum's descent. I wonder where act two will take us?

I honestly have expected Bum to do what he did in Ch19. AND I AM FINE WITH IT. And out of all the things that have already happened in this webcomic, I hardly expect any redemption from the characters happening. I mean, I actually have an inkling that (Based on all the progression up until chapter 19) there is now stronger possibility that Sangwoo be killed by Bum (in the end perhaps). A beautiful kind of poetic justice, in my opinion. I honestly love the continuing dark themes going on in KS. If ya'll interested in main character redemption and (kinda sorta) coincidental heroism, then please read the webcomic "Bastard" instead.
I really am just tired of the hate the manga AS A WHOLE is getting because of the murders and (quite recently, a popular topic) how Bum is now not their "favorite person" anymore because he killed Jieun. (Honestly, I think we were given like... 3 chapters of the foreshadowing of her death tbh) I would admit that out of the series, Sangwoo is my favorite character. And no, nothing is wrong with me. And nothing is wrong with liking a character who is murderer psychopath. I do not romanticize nor normalize Sangwoo. I CAN DISTINCT REALITY FROM FICTION. HOWEVER, I love how Koogi portrays Sangwoo as a character, and his complexity as a character. I could see progress with his relationship with Bum, however fucked up the circumstances are.
I honestly feel offended because KS is actually a pretty good manga with a BRILLIANT storyline. And that's actually putting it lightly due to KS being the author's first work. I have never come across such work as good as KS (that's a lot coming from me because nope the pyschological genre is not my cup of tea).
(Speaking of Koogi's brilliance, did you guys notice the consistency of the art? (Read CH19 to get this reference) Like, Bum's flashbacks from the first couple of chapters makes sense now. And the stuff in Bum's apartment that Sangwoo took (ie. the bra) was actually from Bum's schoolmate which he had formed an emotional attachment to?
I can never stress how much CONSISTENCY there is in the art. I saw a post in tumblr wherein the design of Sangwoo's house is so CONSISTENT from ch 1 up until now. THAT'S how much effort the author has put in this webcomic. (And my god i dontveven want to start on all those idiots out there who project their hatred towards the author? Because, seriously? Dont fucking attack the author. That's wrong.)
ANYWAY
Of course, I acknowledge taht there are people that dont like KS, and I commend those who didn't like it, and are mature enough to not spread hate and attack those who express their favor of it. And to those who are not fans of KS who were attacked by fans of KS because of idiot reasons, I apologize on their behalf.
