i love tj man, just not for ian !! they’re constant reminders of each others problems, and find solace in lust/the past. imo their sex scenes unironically show why intercourse feels so euphoric and passionate with someone who’s not good for you- it’s one of the only times both people feel vulnerable or connected that’s unattainable in their other experiences together
and it gets even worse sticking to someone who prevents you from moving on or wanting to change. tj has to get out from the gangs clutches and have emotional maturity/honesty for me to see a future for them
it’s amazing symbolism for their dynamics!! jo is selfless and protective no matter what happens to ian because he’d bear it all. but tj would rather have ian bear burdens with him and stick together as much as possible even if it get both their shoulders wet

im rooting for them because they represent a refreshing, new, and exciting relationship. i love a fine ass man like tj… but your first love is not gonna be the best person for you as both of you evolve. knowing the worst about a person and being there for it does not = them being the only lover that will understand and empathize with you, and that’s what i get from their relationship. im all for childhood friends to lovers, but trauma and all their hidden feelings bound them and overlaps their shared bond
with jo i get the feeling ian can breathe and move on from the past that haunts him, instead of relish in the comfort of someone who knows his deepest secrets but keeps him stagnant
