About the third timeline

Sugasan May 24, 2024 3:56 pm

I just want to rant about the 3rd timeline (novel)...

I heard the 3rd timeline was different since it's klopp who kept his memories this time.. people hyped it and I thought we might finally see him express his guilt and seek forgiveness instead of translating everything into selfishness anger and lust. But no, it didn't happen.

The first timeline was so heartbreaking and I cried for Aeroc many times, he was raped, starved, beaten, imprisoned, humiliated broken ruined, he made him pregnant many times then took his children away from him... he went through all kinds of hell and agony but STILL asked forgiveness from klopp the whole time. It was so heartbreaking and frustrating to read that part so obviously as a reader I was SO excited to have these other timelines where we could finally witness klopp realise the monstrosity of his actions and AT LEAST try to beg forgiveness, make amends, try to do something for this lover he ruined because of his inferiority complex.. but we did not get that, all I see now is a messed up klopp, one who still so self absorbed in his own misery, not truly acknowledging the gravity of his own sins, still making it about him and his obsession with Aeroc...

it's just so fascinating how the author couldn't give us the feeling of satisfaction even after three timelines! my only conclusion is that the author finds Klopp's arrogance and cruelty so charming and likable, to the point where they can't influence it with a bit of guilt or shame. It's also strange how some people (novel readers) defend klopp in this timeline saying he had suffered enough? Like what?? This isn't even half close to what Aeroc went through. and even if we acknowledge his misery now it's still self induced! He is making his own life harder because he can't let go of his lust for Aeroc, not because Aeroc or anyone put him through any hardships... how is that even comparable to Aeroc's pain in the past? How am I supposed to laugh at their "cute banter" now or want them to get together in the end when klopp just refuse to be a decent human being every freaking time.

Well, in conclusion, I respect the first timeline/first season because of its tragedy, it was a very good heartbreaking read, loved the angst.. but the other parts are just underwhelming imo.

    I completely understand your frustration with the third timeline in the novel. It's disappointing when a character like Klopp, who has caused so much pain and suffering, fails to show any meaningful remorse or attempts to make amends. The first timeline was indeed heartbreaking, with Aeroc enduring unimaginable torment, and it created an expectation that subsequent timelines would offer some form of redemption or justice.

    It's particularly disheartening to see Klopp remain so self-absorbed and unable to acknowledge the gravity of his actions. Instead of seeking forgiveness and showing genuine regret, his focus continues to be on his own misery and obsession with Aeroc, which only compounds the frustration for readers who were hoping for a different outcome.

    The fact that some readers defend Klopp and claim he's suffered enough is baffling. His suffering is a result of his own actions and choices, and it's not even remotely comparable to the horrific experiences Aeroc endured. It's hard to root for a character who refuses to grow or change, and it's even harder to enjoy their interactions when one of them remains so deeply flawed and unrepentant.

    In summary, the first timeline's tragic and powerful storytelling set a high bar, and the subsequent timelines have failed to deliver the same emotional depth and satisfaction. It's a missed opportunity for the author to explore themes of redemption and forgiveness, leaving many readers, including yourself, feeling underwhelmed and let down.

    You can call it TL 1 = tragic ending
    TL2 = happy ending
    TL 3 = bittersweet ending

    I think you misunderstood my comment, I'm not talking about the endings, I'm only complaining about the absolute lack of redemption for klopp as a character. He is not making any amends but still pursuing Aeroc shamelessly every time.. but if you don't mind that, you might still enjoy their new interactions since the author tries to make them have this funny cute banter, enemies to lovers vibe. (I hated it because it felt weird to get that without a redemption arc for klopp FIRST but that's just me)

    wow, some authors are literally allergic to redemption and a character with redeeming quality. I just read flashes of this manhwa and even I can tell it's shite lmao. The suffering depicted are all pointless and are basically just hardcore porn if there's no redemption arc... I'm not into that lmao. Though U bet those Klopp defenders are going to get off to it like teenage boys get off to playboy magazines... Anyway, thanks for the info and spoiler, one more author I'm adding to my black list ig...

    I didn't read the novel yet but after you mentioned these things I suddenly want to drop this, because the weight that Aeroc's suffered should be the same as Klopp. If he really remembers every time line on his 3rd life he shouldn't have pursue Aeroc or serve him for the rest of his life unless Aero showed the interest first. Tbh, if you've done all the cruel things Klopp have done to Aeroc you shouldn't have the nerve to mention the word love. For me, the only satisfying ending for this is for Klopp to suffer as much as Aeroc in the first time line by watching him on the sideline with another mate being so happy with their beautiful family. That should do to suffer as much.

    So true. I think the third timeline, the author should make Aeroc falls for someone else and finds happiness. And OG Clough sees how much he's fucked up in the first timeline, ruining many people's lives.
