I love him until he starts to dig into then have to be saved by someone....Someone always end up hurt unnecessarily.

I think he is adorable, a little bratty, mischievous, strong willed, independent, not impressed by wealth and cute/sexy

I love him. because he's the lead character who is younger that Feilong and Asami (Except Tao), I can understand that he's reckless and bratty. his strong willing makes me respect him. he's stupid about love, sometimes I wanna scream to him, that Asami is already love him (≧∀≦) and I love his body (I love twink and older man type story) hahaha ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

He is a cutie and my favorite in the series. A little bit tsundere and says such cute silly things sometimes like the "mama boobs" thing in the baby extra. He isn't afraid to speak his mind and just overall attractive.

I love that cutie-pie, he's one of those guys, who slowly worms into your heart. I wish he'd be more vocal about his feelings though.

He's funny, cheerful and cute, so (some may be surprised to hear) that I do really like him.
Aki is a strange cross between a generic harem-heroine and a generic shounen-hero.
To me he has an endearing personality, unlike most harem-heroines who can be boring lifeless dolls at times, which is where the shounen-hero traits come in to rescue his character.

I adore him and am willing to forgive all the flaws in his nature due to his innate sweetness and his great big heart. He's a total sweetheart spiced with humor, edge, spunk, and fire, and if anyone deserves the king seme, it's him. It breaks my heart a little bit that he doesn't understand his own value and sometimes struggles with feeling less or unworthy, but perhaps it's better that way.

If anything Asami doesn't deserve Aki, Asami is a shitbag for the way he treats him like a dog.

Aki "doesn't understand his own value and sometimes struggles with feeling less or unworthy" because he has accepted the situation he is in. He has accepted being permanently lower than Asami as a person. He should demand that Asami change his ways, unless he wants to continue feeling this way.

I thought the whole point of the last arc was about him noticing he isn't really lower than Asami?
Though there are pages missing from the chapters here (which were added in the volume release), maybe it doesn't show just as much because of that? :X

This issue was already dealt with ! and it's not to asami to change his attitude but it was akihito problem but thanks to sudoh he realized his place in asami heart !

Mmmh, wouldn't say Asami had nothing to change in order to be more respectful to Akihito aha, though ever since the time he got a tad (a lot? lol) mad he seems fine to me. Might be too soon to say he really changed though, but it actually may last.

Pointless? Perhaps a little silly - and a nod to Fan Service. He was showing possession, and a 'failed' attempt at chivalry. (a trope you might find in romance novels where the hero rescues his damsel from the bad guy plus, when standing, all the naught bits were actually covered) And this was really early in the relationship when Asami and Akihito were totally denying any emotional connection. I love Akihito but I kinda agree with Smoothie, for the moment I feel like Asami doesn't deserve him (yet???). :/ Up until recently, he just treated him as a prize/possession or smth and not as a partner... The power imbalance between both of them is way too big imo, and as Smoothie said, it's as if Akihuto accepted he was lower than Asami. But maybe it'll change soon, or at least I hope so, because Asami isn't a chara I hate and I wish he would show his affection (and not possessiveness) a bit more! :)
Also talking about the pic reponce linked, I think Akihito being butt-naked is just YA's choice to draw him like this and shouldn't be taken in account to prove something or or deny it, because you know... yaoi...

I disagree that Aki has accepted that he's "lower" than Asami. He's realized he represents something to Asami that is missing in Asami's world. He has realized he can't compete with people who move easily within Asami's world but he has also realized that this doesn't matter to Asami. So he isn't lower so much as he is different.

Yes, there's still a power imbalance in obvious ways. But Aki holds a tremendous amount of power that he isn't fully aware of. If/when Asami acknowledges that openly, then the balance will be more equal.
