What do you fucking expect for someone who has trust issue about the people beside him? That specially and literally want him dead!? Ofcourse he will react like that being sorrounded by people who wants to kill him since at a young age ofcourse he'll be having trust issues here and somehow a knight that is suspicious would save him, i too would doubt that its a plot or something...
