One person suggested that he was actually referring to the mom. It's possible he was even referring to himself. I'd be surprised if he forgave years of emotional trauma, the murder of his only friend and the attempted murder of his girlfriend.
I know it's hard to accept that someone you love has done wrong, something extreme like murder, but seriously, you can't just say: "I forgive you"
