I'm not saying the terms are important, but if someone is writing about a mental illness it KINDA should be important that they should at least think about the fact that eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of most mental illnesses AND the fact that eating disorders are the third most common cause of death in young females. There's really no need to take this so seriously. It's erotica it wasn't created to educate people or be super realistic. For example, people don't watch the show Grey's Anatomy with expectations of seeing how real doctors behave in hospitals, they watch it for the drama. There's non-fiction for that.

I pity those who have been misguided or misinformed by your limited knowledge. And I am somewhat, to a degree, frightened by the fact that one who has gone to 'healthcare school' can be so adamant in their wrong prognosis. Did you graduate from a nationally recognised medical school, or was it a lesser established 'healthcare' school? Legitimate medical schools are recognised by the Ministry of Health. Either way, you are incorrect, the character has anorexic nervosa (binge-eating/purging type). Should you, or anyone, wish to discredit the latest edition of the DSM-5, be my guest, I would love to see how that would go down with the medical community. However, I imagine this little challenge would be short-lived.

They might have similar symptoms and their diagnosis might be difficult but one isn't over-weight/average weight when they have anorexia...the clear cut symptom of anorexia is being 15% below average BMI

Some places and institution often use different method of diagnosing. My country, for example, have it's own local adaptation of DSM-IVTR and ICD-10 (which, in many ways, differ from it's parents); and it doesn't classify Anorexia into restrictive and binge/purging types. And I've found many independent institution, which is not necessarily professional but is experienced, don't use official classifications either. People who work in healthcare don't necessarily master diagnostic skills; healthcare is a very wide area of expertise after all.
Despite everything tho; I still find it understandable to disagree with the manga when bingeing and purging are then followed with the word anorexia when, though not necessarily wrong, the two behaviors are typically bullimia. I mean, the most common case in anorexia is switching between restricting and bingeing/purging types and not exclusively the latter. The huge weigh loss is the main indication that this is definitely AN type bingeng/purging and not BN; yet the lack of reference to that point made it seems as though the mangaka doesn't get it. Dunno, it's still possible to be both AN and BN IMO. A person with AN won't be easily lured by the promise of erotic food servings after all.
The manga can still be interesting though. I mean, I'm interested on how this'll go. Look at Ten Count - despite the inconsistencies, it is still an interesting piece.

I agree with your opinion, that it is understandable for readers to make assumptions or to be driven to their assumptions by what they believe is typical of such and such symptoms, or such and such scenarios. Even I and the other person working on this manhwa had doubts. HOWEVER, we both did our research. Still, I also believe that it is reasonable for readers to question the accuracy of the translation, after all, who am I but a name on a virtual page (plus there were some QC issues). HOWEVER, I do not believe it to be reasonable, nor do I find it praiseworthy, for those who are "in healthcare” but "don’t necessarily master diagnostic skill” to be overly arrogant of their “understanding” and subsequently impart their ignorance onto others.

It is reasonable to doubt the text, yes, I completely agree, but for a healthcare worker to determine the condition depicted can *only* be bulimia nervosa is plain negligence.

Hmm? Did you help in translating this manga btw? Because honestly, I don't have anything against the translation or the manga. I just think it's interesting to discuss how psychological issues manifest itself in the media. Do understand that I am not trying to be condescending by doing so.
