A cliffhanger is hoped to ensure the audience will return to see how the characters resolve the dilemma.
I used to draw comics at class when I got bored (only a simple one using pencil) then some of my friends always read it when I finished 1 chapter, sometimes I always made it cliffhanger on purpose then all of my friends be like "what??? Where's the next chapter??" Or "why u do this to me.." or "Draw the next chapter now!!!"
And actually its really fun to see those reaction (=・ω・=) Feel so happy to know that many people wait for your next story. So I know how the mangaka feel or why they like to play with the readers heart lol..
