That's the big question. Sauvel didn't know in the beginning that Aria had other lovers and I think he genuinely believes Rafilia is his daughter. But after what happened at the wedding he saw that something was wrong and looked into it. First he also felt that it was his fault for bringing commoners to nobility and that it was too quick for them to adapt and that Rafilia behaves that way, bc he is neglecting her.
But I wonder why Aria only did get a warning at the wedding. So my thought is that Rafilia is Sauvels real daughter and the warning was bc she is cheating him with 4 other men.
Ellen gave a warning but Aria still had two of her lovers and a new one and it looks like she also did embezzling. I hope she gets a good punishment and not some weak a* sh*
Are they even cousin?? The mother had an affair before marrying the father like what the Goddess said, she had 2 man who left after she married Sauvel and had new one after he chose to neglect her due to unfaithfulness. She also failed to get Ellen's dad. So technically, Rafilia may not be Sauvel's daughter, she could be a daughter of the men that left her mother. So I believed Sauvel's make the right choice to divorce her mother and send Rafilia back to her village and her mother who ignored Ellen's warning, will received a curse as punishment for her crime. A curse from a Fairy/Goddess will be very painful and can never be broke like what is done to former Royal Family.
