Author was making clear parallels between first chapter and now. Bottom used to treat top like a sex toy in a lot of ways and now it’s reversed. I do think the top was being an asshole this chap, but honestly this is one of the best written breakup BL I’ve read. Both characters have faults but are also lovable and realistic
