Here’s my spoilers after I just finished it:
The novel is traumatizing. Some things that I hated were that when they were doing ok as a couple, the emperor left in order to bring his ex lover back and then assaulted him in front of mc. He keeps him (exlover) by his side as his real lover and ignores mc. He told him the only reason he took him was cuz he reminded him of his ex. Later the ex dies and he thinks mc is the reason he died, so he almost kills him. Seriously almost kills him by beating and raping him to almost-death. Then barely apologizes after finding out it’s not true.
He’s always using sexual assault and rape as a way to punish MC. He assaults him in broad daylight to punish him IN FRONT of his brothers and other officials to humiliate him. Mc is also imprisoned 2x for days on end. He also gets beaten up by him a lot.
The book had a little over 200 pages maybe 225 but the ML isn’t kind or loving towards mc genuinely until page 200 when things were a tiny bit better. I still read it and it was okay but it wasn’t worth the hype from comments. I enjoy other toxic MLS cuz I enjoy their redemption arcs but it wasnt enough because of how he treated mc. Take it like this, Jaekyung is a loving angel compared to Jing in this story.
In the end, he just goes to the king after the king sent him away and the king realized he misses him. The king begs him to come back and he does. It ends after that and there’s a few side stories but they’re just them being jealous over each others’ surrounding ppl (ml’s pregnant wives; yes he still sleeps around, and mc’s friends he has that bugs the ml) it’s a shit show I’m telling u.

Yeah no problem lol it was such a crazy read. I read comments that ml is obsessed and in love with mc etc. but I did not get that from him haha he wasn’t like that til towards the end. Anyway, I was gonna say that I think I saw a comment that the manhua that’s out so far is just some promo and isn’t going to be finished so I wouldn’t wait for it. If you havnt read it yet, I’d suggest reading Silent Lover (parts 1 and 2) which the first part is completed and I have a feeling the second one will be completed soon maybe this year. Someone recently did a lot of updates on it here but faster updates are on manhuahot.com :)

Yeah it’s kind of confusing here on mangago. If you scroll thru the chapters, you’ll see the 2026 updates but yeah they’re not in order. I believe they are labeled as vol 2 for part 2 and “ch” for part 1 if that makes sense lol. But silent lover 1 (its own separate story) is finished and silent lover part 2 (separate story about their kids grown up) is at ch 118 or 119. Hopefully that helps lol. I myself use manhua hot just cuz they update faster and they have both parts as separate stories so it’s easier to navigate. I’ll put those links below!
