it's making me nervous too cuz the way i understood it is, him saying "I'm always on the side of the people" means if things come to a point where Miko's existence or powers is a threat to others, he won't hesitate to deal with her or smth

He puts humans over spirits, he exorcizes any spirit regardless of good or bad. So I think the comment was about her dad and his pet because there's a chance he might encounter him.... and I guess she hasn't really grieved because she can see him
As stated above I believe it could go both ways
At first, I thought he might consider her a threat, since she attract too many strong ones (ie notice how all of her encounters are literal life threatening cases) because she can see them probably even more vivid than Ron (ei Michiru case, she saw tentacles, but he didn't). But, when he said he on HER side. It feels like a head up that he won't hurt HER but probably her dad and Michiru.
