Two characters can have issues at the same time. Shocking, I know! They're both fully aware of their own flaws right now, and BOTH are realizing they need to change and already changing. Crying about a character getting "hate" just because we want them to be held accountable for their actions or behavior is childish and idiotic. Pointing out another character has more flaws than they do doesn't erase your favs flaws, it's silly you think it does. Again, both MC and ML in this story fully recognize their faults and understand each other. Calm down and stop taking every criticism of the character you like as some personal offense.
