I’ve read up to chapter 3 where it was obvious what the misunderstanding was going to be.
Up to that point, I’ve seen the uke be genuinely more excited about a character in his favorite franchise than about his affectionate simp of a boyfriend that he treated more like a nuisance than a loved one at that point.
Not to mention that he’s had no issue fixating on a single cartoon character for the past 8+ years, but finds his actual irl relationship with his partner dull because ‘iT’s bEeN 8 yEarS’.
He genuinely comes off as an insolent, ungrateful child, and if this is the attitude he kept for the remainder of the story, I can totally understand the hate people have towards him.
