The manhwa opens with introduction to beautiful guy who was supposed to be the husband of the legitimate daughter of the king but she died and made that beautiful guy a widow. That said king had many illegitimate children like main love interest of beautiful guy, the love interest's little brother(he called him that in the recent chapter, who we even meet in the asking for palanquin episode ), the only legitimate child were the current acting king who has a fetish of screwing dudes wearing women clothes and the dead
elder sister of the current king.
Age clarification: the beautiful guy(yan yang hwi??) is the oldest, then the main love interest (something heon?), the dead princess, the idiot now acting king, the brother of heon.
As mentioned in the story, when they were little after the birth of that freak now acting king, his mother asked the sons of the king consort to leave palace, and that is how the main beautiful lead and love interest grew up together.
They both had a history of like "making out" before the main beautiful lead is supposed to marry the princess. They knew each other's feelings but then the main lead had to get engaged. What I mean is he like "rip to me who died in the service but he died in someone's cervix afterwords" so all in all he got bad reputation and he's a royal boom sirens.
The politics: I think the heon guy is planning some coupe detat on the feakshow king(his half brother) because plot, so they are smuggling in weapons. To secure the high ranking position in the government he asked ministers who were the king's official man, who were unsatisfied with current king and his actions and find him unfit for the throne as the freakshow inherited it after the sudden death of his father, to vouch for him and they did he(heon) asked him to psychology manipulate the freakshow to give hima position which seem like to outsiders that "the benevolent king respects his elder even though that person is a consorts son"
