PLAGIARISM

Mopeah April 15, 2017 5:49 am

Translators, please don't post this plagiarist series and give it more attention. May the author burn in hell for taking advantage of yaoi authors in china.

What are you talking about? They even made a full life action movie out of this manhua. I've seen the trailer in youtube:

TEN MILES OF PEACH BLOSSOMS, aka ETERNAL LOVE

this was originally a novel before being adapted and the author copied a BL writer's work called Debt of Romance. she couldn't sue cuz BL is technically illegal in China. Plus this author allegedly taunted the BL author and plagiarized other works. It's just sad and disappointing. https://hamster428.wordpress.com/2015/07/09/plagiarism-allegations-against-tqgz/

But what about it is so similar??? And if it is similar, why does it matter? What is original anymore, someone has already done it first. Could you further explain?

Imagine you finished an assignment for school that you're pretty proud of. Some asshole takes your work, blatantly copies it and claims it as his own while mocking you. Best part is when this said plagiarist claims the credit while you don't get it.

Plagiarism is a serious offence that looks down on people's hard efforts.

BUT WHAT PARTS EXACTLY WERE PLAGIARIZED. (capitalized for emphasis, not aggression) I am not asking about obvious things like feelings, I just was curious as to what serious material was plagiarized.

The BL is a 仙侠 NOVEL in Chinese. The alleged plagiarizer turned it into his/her own Chinese NOVEL which they supposedly said they just copied the "style" or something. Secondary English sources say that plot points & many names were copied but the only way to verify the extent of plagiarism is if you read the original Chinese BL yourself. The Chinese MANHUA came after the novel & the drama. Is the manga artist at fault? idk it depends on whether they were aware of & believed in the controversy because at this point this series has become something akin to the Marvel universe level of fame in China.

Regardless of whether this was true or not, the author of this series claimed that it was more of a inspirational piece from the BL novel so of course she didn't expect this story to gain this much publicity.
She didn't expect people to take this story seriously in the first place.

But to be honest, the series is great and yes it's an issue that she followed the flow of the BL novel but at the same time, there are many mangas and manhuas that do the exact same thing that this author did.

The point is whether she did or not, can we just take the time to appreciate both authors into making the novel, manhua, and drama happen. ┗( T﹏T )┛

No we can't. The author of Ten Miles of Peach blossom openly admited on Weibo that she imitated the author's original work.
Not only did She shamelessly misled the fans of the original work into thinking her work was the author's new romance by pretending to be the author's other account she also bullied the original author and accused the original author of plagiarizing when the original author published her work on 2008 one year before her!
Even till this day she is still living off the original author's hard work and talent.
The original author can't sue her because bl is basically illegal in China.
Imagine If this happened to you.
    She didnt credit the author.
She didnt make a whole different story.
She took the plot, changed the protagonist's fender only and made It into a straight romance without even trying to hide the fact that her work is plagiarazed.
