Dokja is the one who stabbed his father not Dokjas mom; We find out that she does like Dokja in her own twisted way and convinced him as a kid that she did it not him; because he was so young his mind formulates to the memory of his mom doing it as a coping mechanism.
Yeah i read it. But like why do they hate the mom for "killing" the abuser? Like in my country she might not get jailed for self defense.
Dokja doesn't hate his mom for killing his dad.
He says it himself. His dad was a abusive gambling addict that deserved to die (ch122).
Dokja hates his mother for sensationalizing his dad's murder into a book without telling him.
His mother's book also ended up becoming famous which made get chased by the reporters and bullied by his relatives and students.
Other than that his mother also ignored him and treated him like air when he visited her in jail. He was going through a horrible life and no one was there for him including his mother.
He says it himself -

While her intentions are and were always good, it's still wrong to make decision for others on your own like his mother killing him without any prior warning or consideration just because she thinks it's a good thing to do, for love...

This is Korea we're talking about. One of, if not the most, socially judgemental countries in the world. Even if it was self-defence, she would've had to deal with the social consequences, because according to others she published the book and made money from it.
Even though that was not the actual truth. The truth was that she wrote the book to make money to support Dokja, although his nasty relatives made sure he didn’t see any of it...
Even raped victims in korea can't kill their perpetrators as a self defence and get through legal procedures. Bullying happens in Korea so frequently and domestic violence is easily brushed off. People get bullied for living in poverty and here Dokja's mom actually killed someone (very few people care if it was self defense sadly), so it's understandable why she would be hated by the general public...
That's kinda sad. So bullying is still an unresolved problem in korea? No wonder. I thought some victims just dont wanna tell anyone about their bullying case but it turns out that there's nothing they can do about it unless it gets to the worst possible situation?

Im from the Philippines. Bullying is common here but there's not much physical violence involved. Bullying mostly happens in elementary and high school.
