Ok with the second story being better

I actually did not like the first story all that much. The uke was too irritating, a bit dull and just plain spoilt bratty.

The second story was actually a lot better.
But overall this manga has a lot of loose ends to it there a certain issues were not brought up or resolved, and the story feels a bit incomplete.

I have to agree with you on all points. I didn't like Keisuke much either. His character shows growth, but it seems a bit hasty and contrived. I'm not impressed with characters who are cowards, like Keisuke. Granted, he is a child and has little power to change his circumstances, but he never dares to try either... until the very end. As for the second story, it was better and started out with lots of potential then seemed to run out of steam. For brothers who were portrayed throughout the story as polar opposites, both brothers seemed very much alike in their quickness to run away from difficult situations. That seemed to be where all the plot holes originated for me.
