I read some commenters say that the author confirmed this one to be shounen ai but much like you, I really doubt it coz it's this author plus I don't speak korean nor do I follow her socials so I can't confirm it myself. I just hope that if she does push for it to be yaoi, the leads are more grown up, I'd prefer a time skip too but considering that the author put them as 17yo, it's more likely that she'll just redirect the plot for them to be of legal age and then the smut will commence, specially since if you look at her other works, university settings are also quite common too.
I'm honestly just reading this for Dojin and hyesung but knowing the author this is gonna have smut. Hopefully it's a time skip if not gonna drop cause reading high schoolers get it on feels wrong
