True but you do realise that the rest of the books from this author IS flowery fairytales right? And that we enjoy reading what we enjoy reading? That’s like reading a book from a well known children’s book author and finding out they write the most extreme BDSM books. We are entitled to hate on a book that we don’t like. Also, us hating on Lauren is totally warranted. If Lauren was in front of me irl, I’d deck him. He has no substance, no backbone, didn’t do a damn thing this whole book and still somehow acts like none of this is his fault! Even during the breakup, he did nothing. The reason this book sucks is that instead of ending it there as a life lesson to not be Lauren, the author made them meet again and decide its fate! That’s so toxic. Characters are made for the audience to enjoy or hate based on what the author wants us to feel. Lauren was a fuck up. We were meant to feel sympathy for him because of his mum but instead, we hate him all the more for it. We were supposed to feel empathy for a dude who wasn’t ready for sex but it’s been a year and we find out that not only was he a common whore, he also is a homophobic gay! He’s a poor excuse of a man and an even poorer excuse of a gay. I mean the “villain” of the story is more redeemable than the main character! It’s nonsense!

You guys are too used to flowery fairytale yaoi and Cinderella plot manhwas. And then you forget that real people are much more complex and flawed. We are 3D gray characters and not some black or white characters like you see in most stories.
