I honestly didn't mind the "he can't wait for sex" vs "doesn't want to have sex yet" plotline, I thought I'd be interesting to see how their feelings would develop.
That said I think even the author is confused because it's established from the start and reinforced by EVERY character that knows him that Nathan likes sex first, second and third in his life so when Andrew is ranting his heart out and putting it all out there and he suddenly says "I don't care about sex I like you for you but it's the other things" and yada yada??? Bitch even I'm confused and as the reader we can see much more than the other characters.
And it's not like Andrew left him on a dry spell, they did do things! He just wasn't ready for full on sex so which one is it? Is Nathan someone who cares for Andrew more than sex and so he can wait for him? Or is he someone who likes sex too much to wait?
I feel like the story has told us time and time again it's the second option but then suddenly Nathan is loving and calm and cool and collected and Andrew is the one that fucks everything up always because he's a fuck up and he fucked it up in front of his parents and now he's also fucking up his studies so that dear dear Nathan can save his poor soul.

Sorry for the rant.
