Wait someone said that the author did die check this ojt @mika09 If you read chapter 1 of the official release, at the end of the chapter, you will see a sentence that reads "This work is dedicated to the author of the original work, the late Dugo". And this info was given by the artist who continues the story for the writer (novel I think)
but that was the nick of the ilustrator was it not? Damn its sad either way... :(
