just to clarify, it's also because a lot of twitter jerks are replying "your manga kinda mid so i pirated it" to him directly. while he does say that piracy is illegal (2025 tweet), he also says why would you tell me just shut up and read it (2024 tweet), and if it's not available to you you can donate to a certain organization he supports.
but yeah don't be a jerk and tell him directly that you pirate his works.
