Don't have a specific period but something which involves a lot of court drama and mystery. A manga similar to apothecary diaries but without the romance.

Well from that period I don't really have a rec. But outside it, maybe Innocent, innocent rouge, drunken bullet (although more modern), kuroshitsuji
