I'm not mad at it

I knew for years there was a sequel but it was taking a long time to be released so I kinda forgot about it. I saw some really strong negative comments about it so I decided to read it anyway, even if I might regret it.

I'll admit that I was kinda bored whenever the story wasn't about Kato and Iwaki. I love Yousuke but the whole Shou thing really annoyed me. I'm glad in the end, Yousuke was his closest "son". The last chapters broke me but to me, this isn't a sad or a bad ending. This is the way Youka Nitta wanted to end it and I'm proud of her for taking that risk and leave this story behind with no regrets.

Also I might be biased because I LOVE robots and sci-fi but that afterward story with their reincarnations just....AHHH. I loved it. I love that their souls are entering reincarnations together all the time. "For every version of me, I hope there's a version of you".

I love that Youka Nitta chose to take a stand about Japan still refusing to legalize same sex marriage. She already did so twenty years ago and this was her last "fuck you" to the conservatives. "You won't legalize it? Fuck you, Iwaki will!"

Yes this sequel is really flawed but I think that it's okay because you can choose to reject and ignore it and live forever with the first story as your true ending.

As for me, I know I won't reread this sequel the way I love to revisit the original story but I'll look back on it fondly. Because they'll be together forever, in every universe possible.

I m not trying to disagree your point or like the author
But like after going through so many emotions and completing a whole 80 something ch manga n happily coming to read the sequel only to find out that it is a bad ending can be rlly heartbreaking which actually happened with me ,you rlly start to actually get attached to characters and now after so many years the ending doesn’t affect me much which would go the same you as well ,well I’m not commenting with the idea of opposing you I just think the crash out after reading it is valid and the ending shouldn’t be changed as it’s authors wish to give however shape to her own work but with the ending the author must have had the ending remarks of audiences in her mind but still chose to go with so nevertheless my love for the main story is abundant and will forever respect author for letting me experience so much emotions who are just characters in a manga

I agree with you. For me, as bittersweet as it may be, the ending is beautiful.

I can't believe she killed them off. Of all her stories, the most important characters that we all loved were killed off and the company she works for laughed about it? And they were already reincarnated to begin with. This SUCKS and I am very unhappy how it ends. IT WAS NOT A HAPPY ENDING author.....
