honestly, i dont think the guides have a full on 100% direct influence on the dragons. it seems like the dragons are aware of moral codes and stuff, they just dont care to follow it (like normal ppl honestly). instance of this is the white dragon suddenly becoming polite on solan when she learned that that's her aunt; she's aware acting initially like that would offend ppl, she just knows she's much more powerful that it doesnt matter even if she acts like that. on the yellow dragon, i feel like thats just his personality, really laid back. but him wanting to be emperor is def mostly driven by his guide. so i do think akelans has to shoulder the blame of his treatment to solan. i mean, ripping her embroidery in front of everyone, and also not even a sorry, sometime later or what. idk, i just feel like there are many ways things could have been resolved if he just gave a fuck. the problem is he didnt, and at its core, i think thats what's solan's grudge is all about
ML was a jerk and deserves to grovel but I really don’t believe that he sent her the rope to kill herself. It’s pretty obvious that it was either that one dude who the ML killed in the beginning or it was the yellow dragon’s manager dude or both of them. Cause this all happened during the civil war, and the FL was the ML’s strongest right hand and was in the way. Don’t get me wrong, ML was a jerk anyway bc he left the treason accusations be since he thought it wouldn’t matter but I think the current him genuinely believes FL chose to committed suicide herself and it doesn’t help that she killed herself 3 more times after he regressed. This is def a miscommunication trope which sucks.
Side note: I can see why everyone hates the yellow hair dragon but you have to remember that dragons aren’t like humans and don’t have the same empathy and emotional capacity(at least that’s what I noticed from all stories about dragons). He’s only learned life through the pond manager so it’s rlly only the manager who should get hate. But, with that in mind, I can’t hate the ML bc of this fact. In his first life, he was probably strongly influenced by the guy he killed in the beginning and back then FL prob went with everything to appeal to ML too. ML was never taught about love too. We can see this with the white hair dragon when the FL says she needs to guide her. So, we have to consider who the ML’s guide was. Doesn’t change the fact he was an asshole but I hope the angst and miscommunication gets solved and he grovels enough. So, yes, I’m team ML as long as this all remains true.
