I believe my research has shown me a good portion of their stories on hiatus were published in magazines that went bust (or is it discontinued?) and most of the time the publishing house owns the story and character rights instead of the creators; thus they wouldn't be able to publish it in another magazine unless thr previous publisher gives CLAMP or another publisher ownership of the story and characters.
Ugh, why do all of CLAMPs BL series get put on indefinite hiatus? We still haven't finished X yet, right? & I really don't understand how over-the-top homoromantic series like this & Hetalia end up in Seinen magazines. Another Bromantic series; Gensoumaden Saiyuki, was smart enough to transfer to a Jousei zine when it started as Shounen & didn't attract that kind of audience.
