I do understand both of them, that doesn't mean I have to like or agree with it tho. I'm usually very desensitized to this trope so it doesn't actually bother me that much at the end of the day. I just thought the neighbor guy was cuter (half joking)

I stopped reading at about chapter 76 so I understand it just fine. Feeling bad for past actions and bettering yourself is ok character development but it took so long I got tired of seeing the shitty stuff happening. The plot is decent from a psychological standpoint but it also makes sense that not everybody is going to like a character partially portrayed as a bad guy
