what do you mean slump? what he was going through was caused by the ml with him being possesive about mc's work, manipulating him, earasing the mc's identity from his own work. tell his lover about what? he was figuring it out himself. he was harming people around him and if you could actually read between the lines, you can see he knew what he was doing. he knew he was making the mc depend all on him, and wasn't able to do any paiting by himself.
in conclusion, both the mc and the blue eyes is a piece of shit. also, mc is a dick, if he was going on with a slump he could've told his 'lover' about it and not just be a dick like avoiding it.
