I think Guwon wasn't just a normal guy, he was actually a bad person. Maybe a criminal or something, so he was executed and then used as a test subject. I mean, with the who Sisyphus reference and stuff. Even their mountain and the boulder he keeps looking at resembles Sisyphus' atonement.
I might be imagining things, but I really think Guwon was a bad person before he lost his memory.
And I have a theory about him puking in the last few panels too. I think he can't digest food because he's dead, so he pretends to eat when he's with the teacher and then vomits it all out.
I was thinking the same thing about the vomiting. Maybe I'm coping but I'm not getting malicious vibes from Guwon.

My theory: guwon has cold body and don't remember his childhood because he died and is zombie now, he's learning everything again, that's why he struggled to read and doesn't know many words, in one chapter when teach was eating with doctor and that other girl then suddenly became quiet when guwon came, like they're clearly uncomfortable with him
