Plz I love this story

This novel got picked up by a different artist.

Well, yes, it now has a Webtoon adaptation instead, but it's pretty bad.

At this point I was referring to the actual novel not the comic version

And I was replying to the other commenter, who specifically referred to it being picked up by another artist. But Wang Yi's version is a million times better, because it encapsulates the novel's vibe way better, and the art style was more beautiful as well.

Anyway, I don't understand how you are referring to the novel when you say "picked up"? I read it years ago, somewhere online (it's just Phoenix of the Nine Heavens by Feng Nong; I'm sure you will find it somewhere), but why ask for a novel translation on Mangago with such ambiguous wording?

Probably assumed ppl understood since I said danmei. And while I was reading the novel as far as I was aware the translator stopped. This was obviously years ago. But to clarify I wish for this story which I assume started out as a novel to get licensed so I may purchase it and finally shelf it. Since the original coming with amazing art was canceled and picked up but another only for it to fall short as u said

Danmei is simply the Chinese Boys Love Genre, it has nothing to do with it being a book. Regular Manhua and Chinese Webtoons are Danmei as well.
I've been pitching this to several publishers in my country by now, but nothing has come of it here either. I don't know if it ever will. Then again, they finally published SVSSS a few years back as well, so not all hope is lost.

Oh I thought danmei was bl Chinese novels do they also call their comics danmei too? That's cool that your trying to get this 1 to come back with publishers, I feel like it'd be well received in the west these days. Thanks for the link (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

Yeah, it's just a genre. Like YAOI or Shounen Ai.
It always depends on the publisher, but if you look for it online, they usually give you a chance to pitch stories that fit their program through designated channels.
