there was no sudden switch, the novel is from Kin Dokja's point of view. he doesn't understand that Jang Hayoung is a woman who possessed the body of a boy named Aslan, she still identifies as a woman. Later Kim dokja switched to female pronoun for her because he understood that she is Female.

I know this isn’t really important, but what’s Jang Hayoung’s gender? Cus Dokja said the author made them a girl at his request but still refers to them as “he” so is he just constantly misgendering them or are they a boy?
