Shin was scared, he clearly wasn't ready for it. AND he is entitled to express his feelings and be honest about them. Shige understands this, respects and loves Shin dearly, isn't keen on hurting Shin, and doesn't care that their relationship might not be sexual (they've been in a relationship for 1 year already). However, it looks like Shige wouldn't have to abstain for long as Shin is trying his best to make himself comfortable, even if they're baby steps.
