I thought the connection severed because Daeho was on a "test trial". He lost feelings, talked it out with his chest, and said to never meet again; but Sion kept insisting for 2 years. Since Dae ho was firm and strict rejecting even on that altercation before going to his friends' party...that might have been the last straw of the test trial to prove that he did not want absolutely anything from Sion, nothing deep inside from his honest heart even, like no attachment whatsoever soooo...test completed and successfully bringing Louis.
Unpopular opinion but I think Louis was able to transmigrate because sion died (maybe of depression or su*cide)
